Choosing the right Calming Nest Sweater requires considering two different fits: the sweater's fit on you and the pouch's fit for your dog. Both should be comfortable before using the sweater. Choosing Your Sweater SizeThe Calming Nest Sweater is available in:

Small

Medium

Large

We recommend using the garment measurements in our size chart rather than choosing based only on the size letter. For the most accurate fit, take a hoodie or sweater you already own that fits the way you like and compare its measurements with our size chart. What If I'm Between Sweater Sizes? If you're between sizes, consider how you prefer your sweaters to fit.Remember that you'll also have your dog resting inside the front pouch, so you don't want the sweater to feel excessively tight when the pouch is being used. Will My Dog Fit in the Pouch? The Calming Nest Sweater is designed specifically for small dogs.Dog weight is a helpful starting point, but it should not be the only factor used to determine fit.Dogs with the same weight can have very different body shapes. A long, low dog may fit differently than a shorter, more compact dog of the same weight.Always compare your dog's body size with the pouch measurements provided in the product size guide. How Should My Dog Fit?Your dog should be able to:

Settle naturally into the pouch

Breathe comfortably

Reposition themselves

Keep their head comfortably outside the pouch

Exit when they want to

The pouch should feel cozy without restricting your dog's movement.

Should I Size Up for My Dog?Do not automatically choose a larger sweater solely because of your dog's size. The sweater also needs to fit you correctly.Instead, check both the owner measurements and pouch measurements before choosing your size. Can Larger Dogs Use the Calming Nest Sweater? The pouch is intended for small dogs.If your dog exceeds the recommended pouch sizing or cannot comfortably settle, reposition, and exit, we do not recommend using the pouch.Never force your dog into the pouch or use it if your dog appears uncomfortable. Still Not Sure? When deciding on a size, check:

Your fit: Compare the garment measurements with a sweater or hoodie you already own.

Your dog's fit: Compare your dog's size and body shape with the pouch measurements.

Both you and your dog should have a comfortable fit before using the Calming Nest Sweater.

Step 4: Adjust the OpeningOnce your dog is comfortable, zip the pouch only to the point that feels comfortable for them.Your dog's head should remain outside the pouch with plenty of unrestricted space around their face and neck. Step 5: Support Your Dog While MovingIf you stand or move around while your dog is inside, support their body with one arm.The Calming Nest Sweater should not be treated as a hands-free pet carrier.Let Your Dog Decide When They're DoneYour dog should always be allowed to leave the pouch when they want.If your dog begins squirming, trying to climb out, panting excessively, whining, or showing other signs of discomfort, remove them from the pouch. Where Can I Use It?The Calming Nest Sweater is best suited for:

Cuddling on the couch

Relaxing at home

Sitting with your dog

Quiet activities

Gentle movement around the house

What Should I Avoid?For your dog's safety:

Do not use the sweater as a hands-free carrier.

Do not run, exercise, cook, drive, or perform strenuous activities with your dog inside.

Do not leave your dog unattended inside the pouch.

Do not force your dog to stay inside.

Do not completely close the pouch around your dog.

Do not use the pouch if your dog is too large to comfortably fit.

Do not allow your dog to become excessively warm.

Always Monitor Your DogEvery dog is different. Some dogs may immediately enjoy being nestled close to their person, while others may need time to become comfortable with the pouch.Introduce the sweater gradually and always prioritize your dog's comfort.

The Calming Nest Sweater is made from plush teddy fabric and is designed to be machine washable, making it easy to keep fresh for you and your dog. Regular, gentle cleaning will help preserve the softness and structure of the sweater and built-in pouch. How Do I Wash the Calming Nest Sweater? Before washingRemove any loose pet hair.Empty the pouch.Check the pouch and zipper for debris.Secure the zipper before placing the sweater in the washing machine.Machine wash using a gentle cycle. For best results, use a mild detergent and avoid harsh cleaning products. Can I Use Bleach? We do not recommend using bleach or harsh cleaning chemicals on the Calming Nest Sweater. These products may damage the teddy fabric or affect its softness. How Do I Keep the Teddy Fabric Soft?Gentle washing is the best way to help maintain the plush texture.Between washes, you can use a lint roller or pet hair remover to remove loose fur instead of washing the entire sweater every time your dog uses it. How Do I Remove Dog Hair?Loose pet hair can be removed using

A lint roller

A pet hair removal tool

A gentle vacuum attachment

Removing excess fur before washing can also help prevent hair from collecting inside your washing machine. How Do I Clean a Small Spot or Spill? For small messes, spot cleaning may be enough.Blot away excess moisture and gently clean the area using a damp cloth and a small amount of mild detergent.Avoid aggressively scrubbing the teddy fabric. How Often Should I Wash It?There is no required washing schedule.Wash your Calming Nest Sweater whenever it becomes visibly dirty or develops an odor. How frequently it needs washing will depend on how often you use it, how much your dog sheds, and your dog's activity level. Check the Sweater RegularlyBecause the pouch holds your dog, regularly inspect:

The zipper

Pouch seams

Fabric

Stitching

If you notice significant damage to the pouch, zipper, or supporting seams, stop placing your dog inside until the product has been inspected or replaced. What Should I Avoid? To help keep your Calming Nest Sweater looking and feeling its best:

Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals.

Avoid aggressive scrubbing.

Do not iron directly over the teddy fabric.

Do not use the pouch if its seams or zipper are damaged.

Make sure the sweater is completely dry before allowing your dog to use the pouch again.
